Dueling Weapons Workshop
with Mr. Joseph Lai
There will be a workshop on the dueling weapons, sabre and epée, held on Saturday, January 26th from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm.  The workshop is open to Group 2s and Group 3s, or students over the age of 14.  A minimum of five participants need to be registered to hold the workshop.
Cost: $35
Registration Deadline: Saturday, January 19, 2019 - 1:00pm

Aristocratic Mindset FPhLunch

We will be holding a FPhLunch on the topic of the Aristocratic Mindset on Saturday, January 26th from 12:30-2:30 pm.  The cost is $25 and is open to anyone interested.  The deadline for registration is Saturday, January 19th at 1pm.  A minimum of five participants need to be registered to hold the FPhLunch.
Cost: $25

Lightsaber Workshop
at Salle Saint-George, Seattle
There will be a lightsaber workshop on Saturday, September 29th from 5:00-7:00 pm at Salle Saint-George in Seattle.  The cost will be US$105 for the workshop, or US$190 for the workshop and a lightsaber to keep.  If you are interested and would like a ride to Seattle, please speak to Joe: there are six spots available for a ride and there will be an additional charge for gas.

Cost: $105 USD workshop only/$190 USD workshop plus lightsaber to keep
​Transportation available with Joe for an additional charge to cover gasoline

Poignard Workshop
with Mr. Joseph Lai
There will be a poignard workshop on  Saturday, September 22nd from 9:30-11:30 am.  This workshop is open to students in Group 1, Group 2, and Group 3.  This workshop will be structured as a clinic where fencers of different levels will be given drills specific to their ability so as to improve their understanding of the science of fencing.  A minimum of three students must be registered for this workshop to run, and there are six spots open in total.
Cost: $35

Fencing & Travelling FPhLunch
with Mr. Joseph Lai
We will be holding a FPhLunch on Saturday, September 22nd from 12:30-4:00 pm.  This is open to students in Group 1, Group 2, and Group 3.  The topic will be "Fencing and Travelling": we will be looking at why taking part in fencing training trips are an invaluable to becoming a well-rounded fencer; we will also look at how to plan for the time and expense of fencing trips, as well as what trips we are planning for 2019.  The lecture will be followed by board games.  A minimum of three students must be registered for the FPhLunch to take place, and there are ten spots open in total.
Cost: $25

We will be hosting the second annual Classical Fencing at Fort Langley event on Sunday, April 22nd from 10am-5pm.  We will be holding workshops on
  • Military Sabre
  • Communicating with Confidence, and
  • Either French knife or Poignard.

Disarm Workshop - 9:30 to 11:30am

There is a workshop scheduled for Saturday, January 27, 2017 from 9:30am-11:30am.  The focus of this workshop will be looking at the disarm and its various applications.  The cost is $35.  It is open to students in G1, G2 and G3 who are 12 years-old and above.  The workshop will require a minimum of 4 students registered to take place. Registration is by email  and the deadline to register is Saturday, January 13, 2017 by 12:30pm.  A late fee will be applied to any registration requests after the deadline has passed.

Goal-Setting and Realization FPhLunch- 12:30 to 4:00pm

There is a Fencing Philosophy Lunch (FPhLunch) scheduled for Saturday, January 27, 2017 from 12:30pm-4:00pm. The theme for this FPhLunch is on "Goal-Setting and Realization".  Of course, lunch is included with the class and we will also host a brief round of board games following the talk.  The cost is $25.  It is open to students in G1, G2 and G3 and will require a  minimum of 4 students registered to take place.  Registration is by email and the deadline is on Saturday, January 13, 2017 by 12:30pm.  A late fee will be applied to any registration requests after the deadline has passed.

Tactical Drills Spear Workshop - 10:30 to 12:30

There is a Spear Workshop scheduled for Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 10:30am-12:30pm.  The focus of this workshop is on tactical drills that will prepare students for the free assault.  The cost is $35.  This workshop is open to students in G1, G2 and G3 and will require a minimum of 3 students registered to take place.

Classical Fencing in the 21st Century FPhLunch- 12:30 to 4:00

The September Fencing Philosophy Lunch (FPhLunch) is scheduled for Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 12:30pm - 4:00pm.  The theme for this FPhLunch is "Classical Fencing in the 21st Century".  Of course, lunch is included with the class and we will also a brief round of board games following the talk.  The cost is $25.  It is open to students in G1, G2 and G3 and will require a minimum of 3 students registered to take place.

The Traditional Approach to Classical Fencing Workshop

The centralized and systematized approach first adopted by the French Academy of Arms and, later, by the Military Fencing Academy had a lasting impact on Classical fencing that can still be felt to this day.

​On Saturday, October 1, 2016, Maestro Jeanette Acosta-Martinez will be teaching a workshop focusing on the techniques, mindset, and practice of the French school in the 19th century.  The workshop will take place from 9:30am-1pm at the OLPH gym.  Registration is open to all RFC students currently registered in Groups 2 & 3 as well as students from the Salle Saint-George.  The cost is CAD$150/student or USD$115/student for pupils of the Salle Saint-George.

Please send me an email to confirm your spot before 5pm on Thursday, September 29, 2016.  For RFC students, the workshop fee will be included in your next invoice while Salle Saint-George students should bring payment in cash on the day of the workshop.

Private lessons with both Maestro Acosta-Martinez & Prévôt Longino will also be available on Friday, September 30, 2016.  For more information, please contact me by email.  Look forward to seeing many of you on Saturday.
