The Prise de Fer Workshop
with Mr. Joseph Lai On Saturday, March 31, 2018, a Workshop and FPhLunch have been scheduled. The topic for the Workshop is "the Prise de Fer". In addition to looking at this important set of techniques and how they apply to Foil, we will also be looking at how they are used in the secondary weapons that are currently being studied by Group 2 and 3 students. Combatcon & Summer Employment FPhLunch with Mr. Joseph Lai The topic of the FPhLunch is Combatcon in Las Vegas, Nevada. We will discuss the curriculum, experience, and logistics of this one-of-a-kind event. We will also have a guest speaker on hand discussing the subject of summer employment for high-school students and how to save for medium-term goals. The cost for these events are $35 and $25 respectively. The deadline for both is March 8, 2018 at 9pm. with Mr. Joseph Lai There is a workshop scheduled for Saturday, January 27, 2017 from 9:30am-11:30am. The focus of this workshop will be looking at the disarm and its various applications. The cost is $35. It is open to students in G1, G2 and G3 who are 12 years-old and above. The workshop will require a minimum of 4 students registered to take place. Registration is by email and the deadline to register is Saturday, January 13, 2017 by 12:30pm. A late fee will be applied to any registration requests after the deadline has passed. Goal-Setting and Realization FPhLunch- 12:30 to 4:00pm with Mr. Joseph Lai There is a Fencing Philosophy Lunch (FPhLunch) scheduled for Saturday, January 27, 2017 from 12:30pm-4:00pm. The theme for this FPhLunch is on "Goal-Setting and Realization". Of course, lunch is included with the class and we will also host a brief round of board games following the talk. The cost is $25. with Mr. Joseph Lai There is a Spear Workshop scheduled for Saturday, November 25, 2017 from 9:30am-11:30am. The focus of this workshop is on tactical drills that will prepare students for the free assault. It is open to students in G1, G2 & G3. with Maître Cecil Longino Maître Longino will teach a workshop on the Northern Italian Dueling Sabre on Saturday, October 14th from 2:30 - 4:30pm at the St. James Community Square.
