General Meeting - Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017
The club will be holding a general meeting next Thursday, September 28, 2017. We request all members and associate
members to take part as we will require quorum to hold the meeting. An agenda has been sent out so please notify Joe if you
have not received it. We hope to see all of you there.
September Spear Workshop
There is a Spear Workshop scheduled for Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 10:30am-12:30pm. The focus of this
workshop is on tactical drills that will prepare students for the free assault. The cost is $35. It is open to students in G1, G2 and
G3 and will require a minimum of 3 students registered to take place. Registration is by email and the deadline to register is
Saturday, September 23, 2017 by 12:30pm. A late fee will be applied to any registration requests after the deadline has passed.
September FPhLunch
There is a Fencing Philosophy Lunch (FPhLunch) scheduled for Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 12:30pm-4:00pm.
The theme for this FPhLunch is "Classical Fencing in the 21st Century". Of course, lunch is included with the class and we will
also a brief round of board games following the talk. The cost is $25. It is open to students in G1, G2 and G3 and will require a
minimum of 3 students registered to take place. Registration is by email and the deadline is on Saturday, September 23, 2017
by 12:30pm. A late fee will be applied to any registration requests after the deadline has passed.
October Beginner Class
Children, Parents, and Adults beginner courses will start Thursday, October 5, 2017. If you have friends or family who are
interested in learning Classical Fencing, please let them know.
New York City Convivium
The Martinez Academy will be holding a special event called the Convivium from Friday, October 20, 2017 to Sunday,
October 22, 2017 in New York city. The event is a celebration of Maestro Ramon Martinez's 35th anniversary as a Classical
Fencing Master along with Maestro Jeanette Acosta-Martinez's 17th anniversary. The programme for the weekend is filled with various activities. If you are interested in attending and would like to get more information, please contact Joe.
