Equipment & Dress Code
Proper equipment which is essential to the safe and correct practice of Classical Fencing can be either rented or purchased. For pricing, please inquire through our Contacts page. While all students are reminded to wear indoor shoes inside the Salle d'Armes, the following are our specific dress & equipment codes for ladies and gentlemen practicing in Groups 1, 2 and 3:
For Ladies:
- Fencing mask
- Approved-Classical Fencing Jacket
- Fencing glove for the weapon hand (additional glove for the non-weapon hand for students practicing secondary weapons)
- Padded sous-plastron (if fencing jacket is not quilted)
- Fencing bag
- Foil of appropriate length with lunette shell and french grip
- Comfortable black indoor shoes
- Grey knee-length pleated skirt with black leggings and black ankle socks
- Suspenders
or
- Dress Pants (Charcoal Grey Colour) with black ankle socks and suspenders
or
- Breeches (Charcoal Grey Colour) with knee-length black socks
For Gentlemen:
- Fencing mask
- Approved-Classical Fencing Jacket
