For those with a passion for science fiction and fantasy weapons from across the universe, join us for a spectacular workshop on exploring the science of fantasy fencing through the structure of classical fencing. In our next workshop in this series, we will handle the iconic laser sword from George Lucas’ galaxy far, far away and how one would use it against a skilled opponent. Be prepared for encounters which are no longer limited to your imagination. No previous experience is required; everyone is welcome!

While the cost of the course includes the use of equipment, Mr. Lai will be placing an order on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at noon.  If you would like to purchase a personal weapon to use during the workshop and to have it to bring home afterwards, please contact him prior to 12:00pm on March 1st for pricing information and to pay for your order.

Also, please remember to bring a pair of clean runners in addition to street shoes.

Picture
Classical Fencing at Fort Langley, held in partnership with Salle Saint-George and Fort Langley Historical Site, is a one-of-a-kind event where we get the opportunity to practice our discipline in one of the earliest European settlements in British Columbia.
While practicing in the historical fort is a treat in itself, this event is also unique in that it allows students who have previous Classical Fencing experience and those without to work together.  The workshops are structured in a way where students of varying backgrounds can all benefit.  This year, we will be practicing with the Military Sabre, French Knife, and Bayonet.  Furthermore, as Classical Fencing was traditionally not limited to only martial practice but was also concerned with the cultivation of the whole individual.  We will also be hosting an etiquette class titled, “Conversation: It’s All About You!”  In this class, we will look at how conversation is not only just a social activity but also a means to communicate expectations and boundaries while preserving the dignity for all parties involved.  For the prices of the various programmes offered please refer to the guide below:
