The centralized and systematized approach first adopted by the French Academy of Arms and, later, by the Military Fencing Academy had a lasting impact on Classical fencing that can still be felt to this day.
On Saturday, October 1, 2016, Maestro Jeanette Acosta-Martinez will be teaching a workshop focusing on the techniques, mindset, and practice of the French school in the 19th century. The workshop will take place from 9:30am-1pm at the OLPH gym. Registration is open to all RFC students currently registered in Groups 2 & 3 as well as students from the Salle Saint-George. The cost is CAD$150/student or USD$115/student for pupils of the Salle Saint-George.
Please send me an email to confirm your spot before 5pm on Thursday, September 29, 2016. For RFC students, the workshop fee will be included in your next invoice while Salle Saint-George students should bring payment in cash on the day of the workshop.
